HDD Africa was founded in 2003 by the main member of the company Mr C.J.P. Scheepers. Mr Scheepers has spent the majority of his life dedicated to developing and forming a reliable Horizontal Directional Drilling company using various technologies to meet the market demands and challenges.
HDD Africa has over 17 year’s drilling experience, whilst the teams and key members of HDD Africa, have in excess of 20 years’ drilling experience.
HDD Africa CC is well affiliated with Vermeer SA and Rho-Tech Holding Companies. This allows HDD Africa to commit to challenging working conditions and carry out their work with ease and undeniable accuracy.
Through the combination of the HDD Africa affiliated companies as well as the vast number of years’ experience of the team, HDD Africa is positioned well in the trenchless technologies space and makes for an unbeatable team of Horizontal Drilling specialist.

What We Do

Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)
Various Directional Drilling technologies are being used in all soil types as well as directional rock drilling.

Trenchless Soil Displacement (Moling)
Straight directional soil displacement via moling technique for distances up to 30m and sleeves ranging from 40mm – 130mm.

Pipe Ramming (Jacking)
Pipe ramming also refered to as pipe jacking is a trenchless method for installation of steel pipes and casings.

HDPE Pipe Jointing
A pipeline is only as strong as its weakest connection. When it comes to joining HDPE pipe, there are several common methods that are used, each with its advantages and disadvantages. At HDD Africa we use the following methods;
- Butt Welding,
- Electrofusion, and
- Flanced Connections.
